SAN ANTONIO -- Christopher Gibson made 34 saves in his American Hockey League debut as the Toronto Marlies beat the host San Antonio Rampage 4-2 on Sunday. Alejandro Pena Jersey . Defenceman T.J. Brennan scored the winning goal and added an assist for the Marlies (10-7-1) while Spencer Abbott, Troy Bodie and Jerry DAmigo scored the others. John-Michael Liles chipped in with two assists. Greg Rallo and Colby Robak supplied the offence for the Rampage (9-9-1), who lost for the first time in three outings. San Antonios Jacob Markstrom stopped 24-of-27 shots in a losing cause. Gibson was given his first start for Toronto after being summoned from the ECHL on Nov. 19th. The 20-year-old played seven games with the Orlando Solar Bears, posting a 2-4-1 record with a 2.70 goals-against average and .901 save percentage. The Rampage put 19 shots on Gibson in the opening period, however only Robak could get one past him as San Antonio took a 1-0 lead into first intermission. Abbott responded with a power-play goal for the Marlies just 49 seconds into the second period and Bodie gave Toronto its first lead at 18:43. The lead didnt last long, though, as Rallo tied the game while on the power play 59 seconds later. The game remained 2-2 until 16:05 of the third when Brennan scored Torontos second power-play goal of the game while Jed Ortmeyer was in the box serving a minor for interference. DAmigo added an empty-net goal at 19:50. The Marlies went 2 for 7 on the power play while the Rampage scored once on four chances with the man advantage. Chad Sobotka Jersey . Tyreke Evans had 21 points for New Orleans, which completed a two-game sweep of the season series. Davis set career highs with 40 points and 20 rebounds in New Orleans 121-120 overtime win over Boston on Sunday and then missed a loss to Toronto on Wednesday with a respiratory infection. "Im still under the weather, but I didnt want to miss any more games," Davis said. The Hawks five-game winning streak ended as they failed in a chance to move into a seventh-place tie with Charlotte in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague led Atlanta with 26 points and eight assists. Paul Millsap had 20 points. Led by Davis, the Pelicans outscored the Hawks 42-34 in the fourth period. "Luke Babbitt came in and hurt us and of course Anthony Davis hurt us all night." Babbitts driving basket and 3-pointer from the corner pushed the lead to 93-85. Davis added to the lead, grabbing a rebound of a miss by Babbitt with his right hand and jamming the ball on the same motion. New Orleans outscored Atlanta 43-27 from the free-throw line. "We just didnt give the effort we needed to give," Carroll said. "We werent aggressive. It backfired on us tonight." NOTES: Hawks G Lou Williams had two points and two turnovers after missing seven straight games, including one when he was not with the team. ...
