I hope everyone’s having a fantastic start to their morning. Outside of a horrible mock draft from Todd McShay there really isn’t much news in Jet-land. So instead of spieling about some rhetoric, here’s a monologue from a satirical film that I believe holds merit today.“There was a time in America when contests of athletic prowess were a metaphor for the nobility of man. Historic moments forged by the love of the game celebrated the human potential to achieve excellence. But as time passed, and the country neared the millennium, something went awry. The ideal of sportsmanship began to take a back seat to excessive celebration. The athletes caring less about executing the play than planning the vulgar grandstanding that inevitably followed even the most pedestrian of accomplishments. The games themselves became subordinate to the quest for money. Stadiums and arenas became nothing more than giant billboards to promote commercial products. Players sold their services to the highest bidder, much like the hired guns of the Old West. Soon it was commonplace for entire teams to change cities in search of greater profits. The Minneapolis Lakers moved to Los Angeles, where there are no lakes. The Oilers moved to Tennessee, where there is no oil. The Jazz moved to Salt Lake City Cheap Quinnen Williams Jersey , where they don’t allow music. The Oakland Raiders moved to L.A. and then back to Oakland. No one in Los Angeles seemed to notice. The search for greener pastures went on unabated. Continued expansion diluted the talent pool, forcing owners to recruit heavily from prisons, mental institutions, and Texas. Fist-fighting and brawling permeated every sport, overshadowing any evidence of competition. As the problems mounted, the fans became less and less interested. To reverse the trend, major sports started interleague play. When that novelty wore off, they tried intersports play. But no matter how far the major sports went Red Quinnen Williams Jersey , it wasn’t enough to bring the fans back. The spirit of athletic competition, indeed, was not dead. Its seed merely lay dormant in the dreams of the young.” - David ZuckerAnd with that, here’s your links for the Jets to start you off this Friday.Matt Stypulkoski - NFL free agents 2019: What is Jets' salary cap situation after cutting Spencer Long, keeping Leonard Williams? If offered the tender, the player can seek offers from other teams, but the Jets have the right to match the offer and retain the player. For many people the most newsworthy part of this report is that Walford is on the Jets. A lot of people probably didn’t realize that. You might remember the Jets claiming him off waivers from Oakland last offseason and then cutting him at the end of training camp. You might have missed the team signing Walford just before the Week 17 against New England after Eric Tomlinson was placed on IR. Between his two Jets stints in 2018, Walford also spent time with the Colts.Walford will become an unrestricted free agent as the the result of the Jets not extending a tender.
